"Hi! My name is Jim Rich from Marco Island, Florida. As the owner of 8 boats over the past 13 years, I offered to write this letter to help fellow boaters decide whether or not to use a broker when purchasing a boat. Like many of you, I was always skeptical of boat brokers much like used car salesmen, and for that reason either seemed to pay too much for new boats or negotiated the best I could for used. Three years ago that all changed. When trading a 3 year old 53' Navigator for a 58' Symbol pilot house, I met Andy Kniffin, head salesman for Symbol Yachts in Ft Lauderdale.
