Johnson,  Altima (Hi-Star), Hampton, Marlow are popular pilothouse yachts that are being built in China and imported mainly into the US competing with Taiwan for market share. Cheoy Lee has been a large player in China for many years.  Austrailia has produced Maritimo, Oceanfast and Lloyds superyachts .

European
Medium sized “Euro-style” yachts are produced primarily in England (Sunseeker, Sealine,  Princess (imported to the US with the Viking sport cruiser label and Fairline), Italy ( Azimut, Aicon, Antago, Canitere, Uniesse, Ferretti, Riva, Canados, Maiora, San Lorenzo) and Spain (Anacasta). These boats are production boats favored by primarily European buyers (although many find a US audience) and are typically designed for speed with deep-v hulls favoring deep Mediterranean waters.  Hi-gloss wood interiors and fashionable lines that keep up with the fashionable trends are the norm.  Most however, run quite well and despite no stabilization are quite good sea-boats. Northern Europe (Lurssen, Oceanco, Amels, Feadship, Haakvort, Heesen,)  and Italy (Benetti, CRN, Codecasa, CBI Navi,  are producers of large, high-end motoryachts.

North American
Production boat companies such as Carver (Marquis), Sea Ray, Navigator, Meridian, Cruisers, Neptunus, Hatteras are building and selling boats primarily to the US market.  Westport, Trinity, Burger, Delta, Christensen, Northern Marine, Northcoast, Rayburn, Broward, Lazzara and Palmer Johnson are the domestic superyacht builders.  Of them, Westport, Richmond Yachts (ex-Sovereign) and Christensen builds FRP yachts to 164’ on a production (spec) basis while the others all custom build to order (mostly aluminum – with the exception of Delta (who builds in FRP)  Past builders include Westbay, Northstar, Queenship, Intermarine, Poole, Trident, Westship, Destiny, Crescent Beach, McQueen and Tollycraft .  Other noteworthy US builders include Lyman Morse and Nordlund.
